Art Agenda
art agenda nova (founded 2003) promotes the most interesting phenomena of polish actual art. The profile of the institution is oriented towards the art that relates to the contemporary reality and directly comments on it. Our interests include conceptual art strongly connected with man and object, however it goes far beyond the mere representations. Paintings presented in nova mainly refer to realism - associated with a conception of critical realism. The works of artists connected with the gallery present various forms of realism, from hyperrealism through photorealism, pop-realism to conceptual research.
Apart from paintings, gallery presents photos, paint installations, objects, performances and new media art as well.
Art agenda nova co-operates mainly with the representatives of the new artistic generation, whose renown has been already established on the contemporary art market, as Katarzyna Skrobiszewska, Joanna Pawlik, Karolina Kowalska, Wojtek Kubiak&Lidia Krawczyk, Norman Leto, Rahim Blak. We also try to promote some interesting debutants – students of the Krakow Academy of Fine Arts, for example Tomasz Kowalski, Bartek Kokosiński.
Since 2006 art agenda nova collaborated with East of Art Foundation
In order to support the idea of establishing a museum of contemporary art for Krakow, Art Agenda nova arranges some contextual collective exhibitions in the former Oscar Schindler’s factory : “Delusion of vision”, “The form is emptiness-the emptiness is form”, “Silesia Point”(with the intention of making use of the space provided by the factory in the future).
Moreover, there is also video art review ‘video now’ organized by Agenda, which is a cycle of meetings with such representatives of Polish video scene as Katarzyna Kozyra, Alicja Żebrowska, Jacek Malinowski, Marta Deskur, Grzegorz Sztwiertnia, Janek Simon, Ania Orlikowska .
